PING G440 Drivers
There are five new drivers in the PING G440 lineup, the G440 MAX, G440 MAX HL, G440 LST, G440 SFT and the G440 SFT HL, each designed with a combination of game-changing technology and designs to fit different player profiles.
The G440 driver design includes a lower face height for a thinner, hotter face that produces more ball speed and consistency across the clubface, while free-hosel technology helps create the deepest center of gravity in a PING driver to date for optimal spin, higher launch and longer, straighter drives.
Other key features that set the PING G440 drivers apart are the CarbonFly Wrap Crown, which saves weight that is then reallocated to produce a lower CG, more forgiveness and a pleasing sound, and a lightweight, 8-position trajectory tuning 2.0 adjustable hosel to help dial in ball flight.
PING G440 Driver First Impressions
Kenton Oates met up with Viktor Hovland and Sahith Theegala at Oak Tree National to test out the new PING G440 driver. The more muted sound is one of the first things that stood out about the G440, “I really like the noise, it feels a lot softer to the ears,” shared Theegala after a few test swings.
“I’ve already hit two or three shots pretty far from the center of the face, and they’ve all gone dead straight, which is awesome,” says Theegala. Hovland, who was also impressed by the G440’s consistency across the face shared, “definitely hit a couple of ones on the toe but it seems like ball flights are very straight.”
